The news that Zoey, three, had a rare and violent brain tumour turned the lives of her family upside down. Casey and Ben Zoey were devastated to hear the bad news, but they stayed strong and vowed to enjoy the time they had left with their beloved daughter.

Zoey had many cancer treatments over the next two years, including radiation therapy in Germany. At first, she seemed to be getting better, but her health finally got worse, and on July 4, 2018, she died peacefully at home.

Even though they were very sad, Casey and Ben had the strength to enjoy every moment they had left with Zoey. They let family and friends come over to say goodbye, which made their home feel peaceful and calm.

Casey shared a heartbreaking picture of their last moments together on Facebook, with family, friends, and their dog nearby. The picture shows how peaceful and loving the room was while they watched a Harry Potter movie and sang Disney songs.

Casey said she shared the picture because, even though it hurt, she wanted to remember the beautiful moment for all time. An amazing number of people have been moved by the post since then. To spread hope and love, Zoey’s family has created a Facebook page called Zoey’s Light.

Through Zoey’s story, Casey and Ben want to encourage others to enjoy the little things in life and to love each other deeply, without holding back. They are still determined to honour Zoey’s spirit and bring her light to everyone, even though they are sad.
