Elon Musk Considers Sending All Americans $5,000 Checks From DOGE Savings

Elon Musk reacted to a suggestion on X that the U.S. government issue a “DOGE Dividend”—a $5,000 tax refund for citizens, funded by savings from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

James Fishback, CEO of Azoria and an outside advisor for DOGE, proposed the idea, stating it could be financed by the $55 billion saved through fraud detection, contract cancellations, and regulatory changes. Musk replied, “Will check with the President,” later adding that the decision rests with Trump.

While DOGE has been praised for cutting government waste, it has faced criticism for allegedly having unrestricted access to sensitive federal data.
