Reality Star Phil Robertson of ‘Duck Dynasty’ Fame Dies at 79-Details

Phil Robertson, founder of Duck Commander and star of Duck Dynasty, died on May 25, 2025, at 79 after battling Alzheimer’s and a blood disorder. His family shared the news on social media, reflecting their deep Christian faith and belief that he is now “with the Lord.”

Son Jase Robertson said, “My dad has gone to be with the Lord… We will see him again.” Granddaughter Sadie Robertson Huff recalled Phil’s final words to her: “Full strength ahead,” a phrase that reflected his unyielding spirit. Other family tributes remembered his faith, wisdom, and lasting influence. Phil’s declining health was made public in late 2024. Jase spoke candidly about his father’s condition on their family podcast, describing his final months as difficult but filled with love and care. During this time, Phil’s wife Kay was also hospitalized after a fall, adding to the family’s emotional burden.

Phil rose to fame as the leader of the Robertson family on Duck Dynasty (2012–2017), a hit A&E reality show that showcased their Louisiana-based duck call business and Christian lifestyle. He founded Duck Commander in the 1970s, turning it into a multimillion-dollar enterprise.

A&E recently announced Duck Dynasty: The Revival, a 20-episode series set to air in summer 2025, focusing on Phil’s son Willie and the next generation of Robertsons. The show will continue the family’s legacy of humor, faith, and outdoor living.

Phil was known for his outspoken Christian beliefs, often sharing his testimony in churches and conferences. His influence extended beyond reality TV, making him a prominent voice in conservative Christian circles.

Phil Robertson’s legacy lives on through his family, faith, and the empire he built. His values of faith, family, and authenticity remain central to the Robertson name—and to millions of fans who followed his journey.
