Trump Mulls Travel Ban Extension To 36 More Countries Amid Security Concerns

Donald Trump is considering adding 36 more countries to his US travel ban, expanding his strict immigration policies. Since returning to office, he has faced criticism for harsh actions, including deploying ICE agents in Los Angeles and banning foreign students from Harvard.

Currently, Trump’s travel ban includes 12 countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen, plus travel restrictions on seven others like Cuba and Venezuela. Now, 36 more countries—mostly from Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean—have 60 days to comply with new US security rules or face being added to the ban. These countries include Angola, Ethiopia, Egypt, Nigeria, and Syria.

Exemptions exist for some travelers, such as athletes, religious refugees, dual nationals with non-banned citizenship, Afghan Special Immigrant Visa holders, and lawful permanent US residents.

The expansion reflects Trump’s ongoing focus on tightening immigration to protect national security.
