Trump’s Surprise Power Move Stuns America

Millions across the U.S. took to the streets Saturday for the “No Kings” protests—a nationwide demonstration against Donald Trump’s administration.

Organized by a coalition of activist groups, the events were largely peaceful but unfolded amid political violence, including a deadly shooting of Minnesota lawmakers, and followed recent military crackdowns in Los Angeles.

In Philadelphia, protesters voiced opposition to Trump’s policies on immigration, racial injustice, and his show of military force.

“This is supposed to be the land of opportunity,” said one attendee. Others cited Trump’s discriminatory housing practices and erosion of democratic norms.

“We can’t stay silent while the Constitution is shredded,” said another protester, holding a sign honoring lawmakers Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman, victims of the day’s violence. “Democracy isn’t safe by default—you have to fight for it.”
