Popular 1960s Singer Passed Away At Age 101

Jane Morgan, the elegant American singer best known for her 1957 hit “Fascination,” has died at 101.

She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday in hospice care in Naples, Florida, her family confirmed.

Born Florence Catherine Currier in 1924 in Newton, Massachusetts, Morgan studied at Juilliard and began her career singing in Paris nightclubs. Her bilingual performances made her a star in Europe before rising to fame in the U.S. during the 1950s and ’60s.

Morgan became a frequent guest on TV variety shows like The Ed Sullivan Show and performed at the Oscars and for several U.S. presidents.

Her graceful style and international appeal earned her a lasting fan base.

She recorded dozens of albums blending pop and show tunes. In 1965, she married music manager Jerry Weintraub. They had four children and were together until his death in 2015. Morgan spent her later years in Florida, living quietly out of the spotlight.
