Woke radio host Stephanie Miller is facing widespread ridicule after publicly admitting that she literally kissed the shoes of Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) — a moment she described online as an act of admiration, but one critics called “deranged” political idolatry.
“Why, yes I DID kiss the sneakers of @JasmineForUS and I DO worship the ground she walks on! And she was LOVELY about it!” Miller wrote in a post on X, adding laughing emojis to punctuate what she framed as a lighthearted gesture.
Crockett, who has emerged as one of the Democratic Party’s most combative voices against President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans, did not comment on the post.
But the display underscored how some left-wing activists and media figures have begun elevating Crockett as a rising figure on the party’s left flank — one reportedly eyeing a potential Senate run.
Miller, a longtime liberal commentator known for her loyalty to Democratic leaders such as Nancy Pelosi, has previously mocked Trump supporters for “cult-like devotion.”
Her latest stunt drew accusations of hypocrisy from conservatives, who noted that Miller had once devoted entire radio segments to deriding “Trump worship” among Republican voters.

The radio host’s fawning praise comes as Crockett continues to generate controversy with her inflammatory rhetoric.
In recent months, the Texas congresswoman has become a frequent fixture in viral clips from House Oversight and Judiciary Committee hearings, where she routinely clashes with GOP members and engages in personal attacks against her political opponents.
Earlier this year, Crockett sparked outrage after referring to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who uses a wheelchair, as “Governor Hotwheels” — a comment she later attempted to downplay as a joke.
She has also drawn criticism for encouraging Democrats to “punch back” at Republicans “hard” and saying that Sen. Ted Cruz needs to be “knocked over the head.”
Her combative persona has made her a darling of progressive media, but a target for conservative commentators who see her as emblematic of the left’s growing embrace of hostility toward political opponents.
Crockett’s alignment with controversial Democratic figures also surfaced this week when she defended Virginia Attorney General-elect Jay Jones, who faced bipartisan condemnation after leaked text messages revealed violent fantasies about murdering a Republican lawmaker and his children.
Appearing on Roland Martin Unfiltered, Crockett praised Democrats for refusing to force Jones out of the race, calling the scandal a “distraction.”
She argued that Democrats had to “put their mask on first” and focus on power over purity.
“I was very excited to see that he was able to pull off the win,” Crockett said. “Not that I know him, but it seems like people did not get caught up in the distractions.”
When pressed about the nature of Jones’s comments, Crockett said Democrats needed to “fight fire with fire” rather than allow Republicans to gain power. “Say what you got to say, denounce what he did,” she said, “but at the end of the day, you got to make sure you’re looking out for you.”
Crockett’s remarks drew criticism from Republicans, who accused her of excusing violent behavior and deepening partisan divides.
Meanwhile, Miller’s public display of affection for Crockett — which quickly went viral — added fuel to accusations that segments of the left-wing media treat favored politicians with near-religious reverence.
Critics noted that the incident comes at a time when Democrats have been warning about “personality cults” in the Republican Party.
