Erika Kirk to Meet With Candace Owens Amid Feud

Erika Kirk said Sunday that she plans to meet with commentator Candace Owens, days after publicly urging Owens to stop spreading conspiracy theories about the killing of her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

In a post on X, Erika Kirk said the meeting would take place on Monday. She added that she would pause livestreams and social media activity until after the discussion.

The meeting is scheduled for the same day that Turning Point USA had planned to host a livestream addressing conspiracy theories related to Charlie Kirk’s death that have circulated online in recent days.

“Candace Owens and I are meeting for a private, in-person discussion on Monday, December 15,” Erika Kirk posted. “[Owens] and I have agreed that public discussions, livestreams, and tweets are on hold until after this meeting. I look forward to a productive conversation. Thank you.”

The planned meeting follows a series of public claims by Owens about the circumstances surrounding Kirk’s killing at a Turning Point USA event in September. Owens has promoted multiple theories disputing the official account of the shooting, including assertions that the U.S. military or foreign actors were involved.

Owens has also suggested, without evidence, that Kirk was targeted due to shifting views on foreign policy and has alleged involvement by individuals connected to Turning Point USA and The Charlie Kirk Show. Those claims prompted several of Kirk’s associates to challenge Owens to appear at an in-person forum to address and rebut the allegations.

Organizers said that event has been paused pending further developments, Mediaite reported.

Authorities arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson shortly after Kirk was shot and killed at a TPUSA event in September. He faces seven charges, including aggravated murder, and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Robinson was reported to the police by his family.

Erika Kirk has expressed her dissatisfaction with Owens for repeatedly sharing her theories with his millions of subscribers. When asked by new CBS News boss Bari Weiss last week about what Owens has been saying, Erika’s message was: “Stop. That’s it. That’s all I have to say. Stop.”

Additionally, Erika told Fox News that it’s fine to target her but it’s not okay to go after her family as well as her “Turning Point USA family.”

In a follow-up to Erika’s remarks, Owens said Kirk’s recent comments are not “passing the vibe check.”

“You are not changing my mind about the fact that something weird happened that day and that TPUSA is acting funny because you give an impassioned plea,” she added.

Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers have introduced legislation to rename a well-known street in Washington, D.C., in Charlie Kirk’s honor.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) on Wednesday introduced a bill that would designate a prominent street in the nation’s capital with Kirk’s name, reports said on Friday.

The street previously honored the radical left Black Lives Matter group and was created in 2020. After President Donald Trump took office, the street lettering was removed. Mace’s proposal would replace the prior designation with the name “Charlie Kirk Freedom of Speech Plaza.”

Supporters of the measure say Kirk was widely known for his campus events, where he frequently engaged in political debate and public discussion. In a statement, Mace highlighted his work and addressed the circumstances of his killing, calling the attack “heinous” while urging that his contributions be formally recognized.

“Three months ago, we lost a champion of free speech and a voice for millions of young Americans,” Mace said.

“Charlie Kirk’s assassination was an attack not just on one man, but on the fundamental American principle declaring every citizen has the right to speak freely and engage in civic discourse,” she added.

“By designating this plaza in the heart of our nation’s capital, we ensure Charlie’s legacy and his unwavering commitment to the First Amendment will never be forgotten,” she continued.
