Randon Sprinkle, a former finance chairman of the Virginia Democratic Party, has been charged federally with a horrendous crime, according to court documents first obtained and reported by the National Review.
A criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia states that a forensic examination of Sprinkle’s computer uncovered two archived files containing child pornography. According to the affiant, one of the files includes a 16-second video depicting an adult male sexually assaulting an infant. FBI Richmond executed a federal search warrant on October 16, 2025.
The complaint further states that agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Richmond field office executed a federal search warrant on Oct. 16, 2025, National Review reported. Internet archive records indicate that Sprinkle previously served as finance director for the Virginia Democratic Party and as treasurer for the Metro Richmond Area Young Democrats.
Sprinkle, 30, allegedly engaged in conversations with an undercover FBI agent in May of this year through the Jack’d app under the name “Randy,” according to CBS6 News in Richmond, Va.
The 9-page affidavit reveals that Sprinkle requested the agent to move their discussion to Telegram, where he allegedly stated, “mostly into young, rape, incest – you?”
The arrest has elicited quick backlash from elected officials who have collaborated with Sprinkle in various roles. Richmond City Council Vice President Katherine Jordan remarked that Sprinkle served as her treasurer for the 2024 campaign, managing campaign documentation, events, and financial reporting.
“What has been alleged is disgusting and abhorrent,” Jordan said in a statement to CBS6. “I’m shocked and sickened.”
1st District Council member Andrew Breton utilized Sprinkle’s services for campaign finance reports and event logistics. “The allegations are shocking and disturbing. I am grateful that law enforcement is involved, and that justice is taking its course,” Breton said.
Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who has been seen in several photos with Sprinkle that he posted on X, also responded through her spokesman, Jared Leopold. “Congresswoman McClellan is shocked by these appalling accusations which should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Leopold stated.
Sprinkle has also been photographed with Virginia Democratic Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger, though her reps did not respond to a request for comment from CBS6.
An affidavit filed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation states that investigators extracted 68 files during a forensic examination of Sprinkle’s electronic devices, some of which carried titles described as disturbing. Legal analyst Ed Riley said the findings may indicate distribution through peer-to-peer networks commonly used to exchange illegal images and videos.
If convicted on the single federal charge of distribution of child pornography, Sprinkle faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, with a potential maximum sentence of 20 years.
“If they find the images and they can connect you to the images, you’re not dealing with the merits of the case anymore. You’re dealing with the resolution that it’s going to be,” Riley told CBS6.
Meanwhile, outgoing FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino provided some insider details into his decision to leave the Trump administration and his post during a Friday morning appearance on “Fox & Friends,” where he appeared to reveal the real reason behind his shocking move.
“I mean I gave up everything for this. I mean you know my…my wife is struggling. I’m not a victim. I’m not Jim Comey. It’s fine,” Bongino said. “I did this and I’m proud I did it. But if you think we’re there for tea and crumpets…Well, I mean, Kash is there all day.
“I stare at these four walls all day in DC, you know, by myself divorced from my wife – not divorced, but I mean separated-divorced, and it’s hard,” Bongino continued. “I mean, you know, we love each other and it’s hard to be apart.”
