New Updates in Charlie Kirk Case After ‘Crucial Evidence’ Located

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox has confirmed that Tyler Robinson, the man suspected of killing Charlie Kirk, is not cooperating with police.

During a series of interviews across the media, Cox also confirmed that Robinson’s live-in boyfriend is a transgender person who is transitioning from male to female. Cox said that Robinson’s family and his love partner are all helping the FBI with their investigation into Kirk’s death.

“He [Robinson] has not confessed to authorities. He is not cooperating, but all the people around him are cooperating. And I think that’s very important,” Cox said.

He also reiterated that Robinson was “deeply indoctrinated in leftist ideology.”

Authorities arrested Robinson, 22, on Thursday evening after his father recognized him in FBI photos of the suspect who shot Kirk at Utah Valley University last Wednesday.

Cox previously told the Wall Street Journal that Robinson was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology” and has since teased that more specifics will come out when charges against the shooting suspect drop on Tuesday.

“That information comes from the people around him — his family members and friends,” Cox told CNN’s State of the Union. “There were conversations that were discussed specifically about Charlie Kirk.”

“He does come from a conservative family. But his ideology was very different than his family,” the governor told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Investigators are still working to piece together a full picture of the motives behind the assassination of Kirk. One factor that the Beehive State Republican blamed for Robinson’s radicalization is social media, which he ripped as worse than “cancer.”

“I believe that social media has played a direct role in every single assassination and assassination attempt that we have seen over the last five, six years. There is no question in my mind,” Cox told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday.

“Cancer probably isn’t a strong enough word. What we have done especially to our kids, it took us a decade to realize how evil these algorithms are. And we’re doing everything in Utah. First state in the nation a couple years ago to pass comprehensive reform.”

“The roommate was a romantic partner, a male transitioning to female,” Cox told “State of the Union.” “This partner has been incredibly cooperative [and] had no idea that this was happening. And, he’s working with investigators right now.”

Authorities confirmed that Tyler Robinson is being placed under “special watch” until he has a mental health evaluation.

According to a statement from the department, Robinson, 22, will remain in the Utah County Sheriff’s Department’s special housing unit under “special watch” to allow officials to monitor his mental health closely.

Robinson was caught after being on the run for 33 hours.

Before Robinson’s father turned himself in, a law enforcement source told Fox News Digital that he told the FBI that he recognized his son from surveillance video images that the FBI had shared during the manhunt.

The person told Fox News that Robinson told his father he was going to kill himself when he got there. Sources told Fox News Digital that the dad talked to a preacher whom the family knew before he turned in his son.

On Sunday morning, Utah Gov. Brian Cox told ABC News that Robinson was not working with police while he was in jail.

“He has not confessed to authorities. He is not cooperating, but everyone around him is cooperating. And I think that’s, that’s, that’s very important,” Cox told ABC News.

On Monday, BI Director Kash Patel detailed the contents of a text message exchange between Charlie Kirk’s suspected assassin and a close friend. In the messages, the killer indicated he had a chance to “take out Charlie Kirk” and that he was “going to do it.”

During an interview on Fox & Friends, Patel discussed the arrest of alleged assassin Tyler Robinson and stated that it was one of the “shocking” discoveries he made during the federal probe.

Patel also revealed that DNA found on a screwdriver left on the roof of Utah Valley University and the towel wrapped around the weapon found near the site of the Kirk attack has matched Robinson.

He added that DNA found on the towel the rifle was wrapped in, as well as a screwdriver found on the rooftop, matches that of the suspect.
