Kamala Harris Faces Backlash Over Alleged Trump Snub at Jimmy Carter’s Funeral

Vice President Kamala Harris has sparked controversy following her social media post from the late President Jimmy Carter’s funeral. The event, which brought together five current and former U.S. presidents — Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Donald Trump — became a focal point for criticism after Harris shared an image that conspicuously excluded Trump.

Social Media Sparks Outrage
The photo Harris posted showed the presidents standing solemnly with their hands over their hearts, accompanied by her caption:

“President Jimmy Carter loved our country. He lived his faith, served the people, and left the world better than he found it.”

However, Trump was absent from the image, leading to swift backlash online. Critics accused Harris of deliberately cropping out the former president and his wife, Melania Trump, from the gathering, calling it a “petty” move.

Former West Virginia legislator Derrick Evans took to social media to denounce the post, writing:
“Kamala, you are a petty POS. You cropped out President Trump and his family. All because you were not able to steal another election from him. You will always be known as the DEI pick who slept your way to the top of the illegitimate Biden regime. Signed, The American People.”

Other users echoed similar sentiments, accusing Harris of trying to “erase history” and engaging in “pure evil.”

Obama and Trump’s Unexpected Interaction
Amid the tension surrounding Harris’s post, a moment of camaraderie between former President Barack Obama and Donald Trump at the funeral caught public attention. The two men were seen sharing a lighthearted exchange before the service began.

A lip reader, Jeremy Freeman, analyzed the interaction for The Daily Mail, revealing what appeared to be a mix of jokes and logistical comments.

Obama reportedly began with a weary statement: “Yeah, yeah, I’m fine, yeah, fine, fine, fine. Listen to me. It’s a chore, a chore.” Trump replied humorously: “Yeah, right. I can’t think of anything that’s a chore.”

The conversation continued with remarks about blocking entrances and mentions of “conditions,” with Trump adding: “And after, I will…”

Freeman also noted Obama asking Trump, “Are you going back to the foy after?” Trump responded, “Call me at the foy after, yep.” While the meaning of “foy” remains unclear, it appeared to reference a foyer or another designated area for conversation.

The interaction ended with Trump saying, “I can’t talk, we have to find a quiet place. Sometimes, this is a matter of importance, and we need to do this outside so that we can deal with it, certainly, today.” Obama nodded in agreement before both returned their focus to the funeral.

Polarizing Reactions to the Funeral Drama
The contrasting narratives at Jimmy Carter’s funeral reflect the deep political divides in the U.S. Critics of Harris saw her alleged exclusion of Trump as a partisan slight, while others viewed it as an oversight blown out of proportion.

Meanwhile, the friendly exchange between Obama and Trump provided a rare moment of unity amid political turmoil, demonstrating that even fierce rivals can find common ground during solemn occasions.
