Border Czar Tom Homan Warns of Jail Time for Leakers of ICE Operations

Border czar Tom Homan has issued a stark warning to individuals leaking sensitive information about upcoming ICE operations, declaring that those responsible—if identified—will face serious legal consequences, including jail time, job termination, and loss of pensions. Speaking on Fox News, Homan condemned the unauthorized disclosures, particularly those allegedly implicating the FBI, and stressed that such leaks compromise national security and put law enforcement officers at risk.

During his interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Homan did not mince words. He accused internal sources of jeopardizing high-stakes immigration enforcement operations by leaking crucial intelligence. Specifically, he pointed to a recent case involving an ICE raid planned for California later this month, as well as an earlier operation in Aurora, Colorado, where leaked details had already endangered ICE agents on the ground.

Leaked Information Jeopardizing Federal Operations

Homan revealed that ICE believes the leaks originate from within the FBI, which raises serious concerns about inter-agency security. “We think it’s coming from inside,” he stated, referring to the confidential ICE operations in Colorado that recently appeared in the media. These disclosures, he argued, give criminals an unfair advantage and could lead to ambushes against ICE officers.

The former acting ICE director underscored that these breaches were not isolated incidents. “Some of the information we are receiving tends to point toward the FBI,” he claimed, adding that he had already spoken with the deputy attorney general regarding the matter. A criminal investigation has been launched to determine if the leaks constitute a felony under federal law.

“If the investigation confirms that someone is deliberately sabotaging our operations, that person will lose not only their job but also their pension,” Homan warned. “They will go to jail.”

The leaked details of the Aurora operation were particularly alarming, Homan noted. That raid was of such significance that FBI and DEA agents had been dispatched to assist ICE personnel. “These leaks put our officers at risk because bad actors might use this information to set them up,” he explained. “This is not a game. When crucial details of a raid are exposed, it jeopardizes lives.”

Federal Integrity and Immigration Enforcement at Risk

Homan emphasized that beyond endangering law enforcement personnel, the leaks threaten the integrity of federal immigration enforcement. He called for immediate action from the Justice Department, stating that such breaches hinder the Department of Homeland Security’s ability to carry out its mission.

“I sent an email to the deputy attorney general today asking, ‘At what level does this leak become an impediment?’ We need clear guidance on this matter,” he said. If these leaks continue, Homan warned, ICE’s ability to enforce immigration laws could be severely hindered.

This issue arises amid a broader national debate over immigration enforcement, with political leaders from both parties weighing in. Democrats and immigration advocates have pushed back against aggressive ICE operations, while Republicans argue that enforcement is necessary to secure the border and uphold the rule of law.

Political Reactions: Democrats vs. Republicans

Some Democratic lawmakers have responded to the heightened ICE activity by advising immigrants on how to handle encounters with federal agents. New York Representative Dan Goldman, for example, posted a video on social media platform X encouraging people to know their rights during ICE interactions. “No matter what the next four years bring, stay informed, stay safe, and stay together,” Goldman urged.

Goldman’s message aligns with efforts by immigration advocacy groups to educate undocumented immigrants about their legal rights. These groups argue that many ICE raids violate due process and disproportionately target individuals with deep ties to their communities.

However, Republican lawmakers have slammed these efforts, accusing Democrats of actively aiding illegal immigrants in evading law enforcement. North Carolina Representative Mark Harris strongly criticized the opposition, claiming that Democratic officials were using their platforms to obstruct ICE’s work.

“It’s completely disgraceful that Democrats are going to such extreme lengths to aid illegal aliens,” Harris said. “Their tactics are nothing more than an attempt to obstruct President Trump’s agenda.” He argued that even if such advice is framed as legal education, the broader impact is to undermine immigration enforcement efforts.

Harris further contended that Democrats are prioritizing the interests of undocumented immigrants over those of American citizens. “Speaking in other languages or using coded messages won’t mask the fact that the Left is working against the safety of the American people,” he said.

Homan’s Call for Accountability

Amid the political firestorm, Homan remains steadfast in his push for accountability. He insists that those leaking ICE operation details must be held responsible to protect the integrity of federal law enforcement.

“This isn’t about politics—it’s about national security,” he said. “If we can’t trust our own federal agencies to keep critical information secure, how can we expect to enforce the law effectively?”

With the Department of Justice’s investigation now underway, the coming weeks could determine whether the alleged leakers will face criminal charges. Meanwhile, ICE continues its enforcement operations, though now under increased scrutiny and the looming threat of further leaks.

As tensions mount over border security and immigration enforcement, one thing is clear: Tom Homan is determined to hold those responsible for the leaks accountable, no matter the political cost.
