Pup Surrendered To The Same Shelter 6 Years After Being Adopted Found His New Family A Couple Hours Later

I’m pretty sure that, by now, we all know how important family is to our furry friends.

They don’t just see us as their owners, we are their favorite hoomans, their family, and their best friends!
So, when, for whatever reason, we get separated, it can significantly impact their mental health. I mean, how would you feel if you suddenly lost the love of your life? Thankfully, there are many people happy to step in and help if such a thing does happen.

And even though they can’t fix the past, they sure can make the future so much better.

Unfortunate News

When the Greenmore Farm Animal Rescue, a non-profit, volunteer-based rescue located in Pennsylvania, noticed one of their pups that got adopted 6 years ago, they thought that he just came over to pay a visit.

However, after a few moments, they found out that his owners actually came to surrender him because they were moving out of the country and unable to take him along.

“Sweet Augie is back at the kennel, and our hearts are breaking for him. After 6 years in a loving home, he was returned through no fault of his own, and the transition has been incredibly tough. This poor guy is stressed and confused, wondering where his family went,” wrote the rescue in a Facebook post.

The video of the pup is absolutely heartbreaking.

He is sitting in his kennel, all alone, stressing so much that he is absolutely shaking. But something that you immediately notice is his bright smile.

Even after this devastating moment, Augie is still able to put on a smile, showing everybody that he is not giving up on life just yet.

No Longer Alone

After posting the video on their social media, hoomans from all over the country gathered in the comments to express their thoughts on the situation.

One family in particular simply couldn’t bear to see this sweet boy so sad. They reached out to the Pennsylvania shelter and offered to adopt him.

The shelter was overjoyed at the news and more than happy for them to do so.

“But there is hope—thanks to our amazing community, a family reached out wanting to add to their Greenmore family. In less than 24 hours, Augie found his forever home. We are so grateful for your continued support in making these happy endings possible,” the shelter wrote in an update.

This adorable pup no longer had to be by himself as he now had a loving family and an adorable furry sibling to keep him company.

His incredible story proves to everybody how powerful a community can be when they put their differences aside and decide to work together.
