A Teen’s Plea for Father’s Forgiveness Sparks Rift with Mother

A woman’s life changed when she married a wealthy man who showered her family with gifts and helped her relatives. However, her husband cheated on her twice — first after she gave birth, and again when their daughter Kelly was 12.

She decided to divorce him but lost custody of Kelly in a bitter legal battle, though she received alimony and a fair settlement. Her family painted her as the villain, leading to estrangement with Kelly.

Years later, Kelly became financially independent after getting a high-paying job, while her father faced a string of bad luck. Kelly, now wanting to reconnect with her mother, asked for financial help with grad school.

The woman agreed, but with a condition: Kelly would forfeit her inheritance in her mother’s will, which was to go to her goddaughter, Laura. This decision sparked family division, with some questioning whether the woman was right to choose Laura over her own daughter.
