Targeting Tesla Dealerships

The FBI has launched an investigation into a series of attacks targeting Tesla vehicles, dealerships, and related incidents of swatting across the United States. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino confirmed the active investigations, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to public safety and transparency.

In a public statement, Bongino said, “Communication and transparency are my priorities. We work for you, the American citizen. Our teams are actively working on the Tesla incidents and the swatting incidents, along with our other responsibilities to keep the Homeland safe.”

Rise in Swatting and Vandalism

Swatting, a dangerous form of harassment that involves making false emergency calls to dispatch armed police to an unsuspecting target, has been part of the wave of harassment incidents against Tesla. These false reports have raised concerns among law enforcement agencies about the growing threat to public safety.

One of the most notable incidents occurred at a Tesla collision center in Las Vegas, where multiple vehicles were set on fire and the word “Resist” was spray-painted on the building. According to a statement from the Las Vegas Police Department, an individual dressed in black approached the business carrying incendiary devices, set several vehicles ablaze, and fired at least three rounds at vehicles. One undetonated incendiary device was also found inside a car.

Incidents Expand Nationwide

Beyond Las Vegas, other incidents have been reported across the country. The FBI’s Kansas City field office, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and local police, are investigating damage done to Tesla Cybertrucks at a dealership in south Kansas City.

Authorities are still working to determine the extent and organization behind these attacks. The acts have raised concerns about a larger coordinated movement, informally referred to online as the #TeslaTakedown.

Internationally, security concerns have also affected Tesla events. In Canada, a Tesla exhibit was removed from the Vancouver International Auto Show earlier this week due to safety issues linked to potential threats.

Authorities Promise Accountability

Law enforcement officials have emphasized that those responsible will face serious consequences. Speaking to the media, Attorney General Pam Bondi noted that the Department of Justice is committed to identifying and prosecuting those involved in these criminal activities.

Although some officials have raised questions about whether the attacks are being coordinated or funded by larger networks, investigations remain ongoing, and authorities have not released any confirmed links at this time.

Public Safety First

The attacks on Tesla facilities and vehicles highlight a broader challenge facing law enforcement in an era where targeted harassment and coordinated vandalism can quickly escalate. The FBI encourages anyone with information related to these incidents to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigations.

As the situation develops, authorities continue to prioritize protecting businesses, customers, and public spaces from further threats.
