Trump Demands Jail Time for Adam Schiff Over Mortgage Allegations

President Donald Trump is calling for California Democrat Sen. Adam Schiff to be prosecuted and jailed, following newly revealed documents that accuse the longtime Trump critic of mortgage fraud.

“Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff is in BIG TROUBLE!” Trump posted to Truth Social on Sunday. “He falsified Loan Documents. He once said my son would go to prison on a SCAM that Schiff, along with other Crooked Dems, illegally ‘manufactured’ in order to stage an actual coup,” Fox News reported.

“My son did nothing wrong, knew nothing about the fictional story,” he added. “It was an American Tragedy! Now Shifty should pay the price of prison for a real crime, not one made up by the corrupt accusers!”

The accusations stem from a letter sent by the Federal Housing Finance Agency to the Department of Justice in May. In it, the agency alleges that Schiff “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms,” impacting mortgage payments between 2003 and 2019 for a home in Potomac, Maryland.

The FHFA oversees Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Bank System.

Trump doubled down on Tuesday, pointing to a report from Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division that Schiff engaged in “a sustained pattern of possible occupancy misrepresentation” across five Fannie Mae loans.

“Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA,” Trump posted. “I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook. The FRAUD began with the refinance of his Maryland property on February 6, 2009, and continued through multiple transactions until the Maryland property was correctly designated as a second home on October 13, 2020.”

Schiff’s office did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital on Monday.

The California senator dismissed the allegations earlier this month, calling them political retaliation, Realtor.com reported.

“Since I led his first impeachment, Trump has repeatedly called for me to be arrested for treason,” Schiff wrote on X. “So in a way, I guess this is a bit of a letdown. And this baseless attempt at political retribution won’t stop me from holding him accountable. Not by a long shot.”

The Los Angeles Times reviewed the memo and confirmed that it did not accuse Schiff of a crime. Instead, it stated that Schiff and his wife, Eve, listed both their Maryland and California addresses as primary residences at different times between 2009 and 2020, raising questions about occupancy representation.

On Capitol Hill Wednesday, Schiff ignored a reporter’s question about Trump’s accusations and simply replied, “Have a nice day.”

In a five-minute YouTube video titled “Trump Just Threatened Me Directly. I’m Not Backing Down,” Schiff accused Trump of trying to shift the spotlight away from the controversy surrounding the Epstein case.

He said Trump is “using my ownership of two homes to make a false claim of mortgage fraud, but what really is going on here is this is Donald Trump trying to bring about political retribution, retaliation, trying to distract from his Epstein file problem.”

“A president threatening prosecution or saying that his opponent should be jailed—this is the kind of stuff you see tin pot dictators do,” Schiff said.

Days after the president’s post about Sen. Schiff, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard appeared on Fox News and explained how she said the recent documents she declassified showed “overwhelming evidence” that former President Obama and his national security team created the Trump – Russian collusion hoax.

“It lays out, these over 100 documents that you’re referencing, that I declassified and released, spells out in great detail exactly what happens when you have some of the most powerful people in our country directly leading at the helm, President Obama and his senior-most national security cabinet, James Comey, John Brennan, James Clapper, and Susan Rice and others, essentially making a very intentional decision to create this manufactured, politicized piece of intelligence with the objective of subverting the will of the American people,” she said.
